About

I am a teacher in Melbourne. I have taught ESL for many years to primary migrant children from Central America and Vietnam in the early 80's. Then when I went to Central Australia I taught ESL in Alice Springs and then at Docker River where I learnt a bit of Pitjantjatjara. Here is a language lesson for you. Docker River Language Lesson. I also taught at Shepherdson college.
Back in Victoria I began teaching again, but this time in adult education. I started some more study like the Dip VET Practice, and Dip TAA where I started e-learning challenges and then got addicted to edublogging. Now I am learning Blogger blogging and still doing lots of on line work with our refugee students from all around the world. We also netork on Facebook in class.
We have a program in TAFE called the Ucan2 Program. The program is in partnership with CMY, Foundation House and Adult Multicultural Education Service (AMES). The program is funded through a philanthropic trust.
It is exciting to be starting the year again in another week. I am hoping to quickly learn the skills we are taught on the teacher challenge and then I will be able to whip up my lessons on the Youth Class Blog in no time!
